Yoga at the Aja Hotel

The Aja Hotel has a website called Hotel Mssnger designed for their activity bookings. You can also call the reception to register for class.

Pay for class with cash or card at the hotel reception upon arrival.

If class is cancelled, which doesn’t happen often but it CAN happen, I will notify you using the contact info you put into the registration page on Hotel Mssngr – I will contact you ONE HOUR before class starts: 16:45. This is a hotel policy.

The yoga room is just off the fitness studio which you can access by walking through the spa door, go to the end of the hallway and then turn left. The reception staff should give you a key to open the spa door or let you in.

In good weather we sometimes do class outside in the back garden if the group unanimously decides.

Only if you want to. The hotel has three different types of yoga mats to choose from, as well as yoga blocks.

If you registered online you were given the option to register with Hotel Mssngr’s App and create an account, or to register as a guest. You can only cancel your own booking online if you have an account with Hotel Mssngr.
Please call the reception, +49 8821 8209 2525, to cancel your spot as soon as you know and ask them to update the Hotel Mssngr list. If no one answers, contact me via email.

Mountain Yoga and Drop-In Yoga Classes in Garmisch

The best way to find out when classes on the mountain are happening is to join my WhatsApp group chat. Conversation is reserved to just sharing class information. To join, scan the QR code below or send me an email with a quick hello and inquiry at erin@thethirdplaceyoga.com.

I also have a Facebook page for my mountain classes where I share schedules and relevant info. You can view it here!

The hike to our class location is medium difficulty; it’s not a far distance, but the path is steep. Depending on the person it can take between 10 and 20 minutes walking. You climb about 80 high meters during the walk uphill. The location is here on maps.

All mountain classes are donation based with cash and digital options available. Most students donate between €10 and €25, but the decision is yours based on what you’re able to give!

My current drop in classes are located at:

Unfortunately no, I don’t have my own studio right now and a “traditional yoga studio” doesn’t exist in Garmisch (yet!). I teach in various places around town. The address linked to my Google Business profile is Zoeppritzstrasse because it is close to where my mountain yoga classes take place.

European Yoga Retreat Questions

The July and August yoga retreat‘s location involves a relatively relaxed entry hike to access the hut. You’ll climb a total of 250 floors (~500 meters elevation) over about 8km distance. Projected time is 2.5-3 hours including breaks for snacks and photos!

The retreat price is different for each retreat. Please view my retreats page for more details! Be mindful that each retreat has a “retreat price” and separately an “accommodations price” that you’ll pay directly to the lodging. These must be separated for legal reasons.

Yes! Yoga experience will be helpful during the classes but is not necessary and I will always offer modifications. If you have never done yoga before, I suggest starting a stretch routine, practicing yoga in your city, practicing with me on YouTube before the event! I have free online content on my Instagram page: @thethirdplace_yogafitness!

No. I am not a certified mountain guide and you are choosing to join the hikes at your own risk. I have researched routes, completed them myself, and will have offline maps available to the group, but I am not a hiking guide.

Online Classes

The following payment methods are accepted:

The VIP program is a group you can choose to join for discounted class prices and access to the recordings (they’re housed in a private Facebook group). When you pay for a month of VIP access you are a member for 30 days and it must be renewed each month you want to continue.

Absolutely! Once you pay for your class, you’ll be invited to the online Google Meet calendar event and will have online access. You can choose which classes to join at your leisure. You do not need a Google account to join.

Do you have a yoga studio?

Unfortunately, no.
There is no “yoga studio” in Garmisch-Partenkirchen – at least not yet!
There are several fitness studios around town that offer yoga classes along with other types of movement and exercise, but most of the yoga & Pilates teachers in town work out of various rooms and studios in GAP.
It is a goal and dream of mine to make finding drop-in classes in Garmisch EASIER, because I know it’s complicated… Stay tuned…

I teach in the following locations:
The Aja Hotel
Verena Krinninger’s Pilates Studio
The Volkshochschule (VHS, Adult School)
The Mueller Fitness Center on the American Army base
Outside on the Kramer mountain
In people’s homes for at-home private training
And occasionally I partner with other businesses for fun events like Yoga + Brunch, BergfleX at the Alpspitze, and Day Retreats!
