What people are saying about my retreats…

”I would definitely attend another yoga retreat with Erin. The mix of outdoor time, yoga, camaraderie, and mindfulness influenced my overall exceptional experience. I used this weekend to step back from my reality and truly enjoy myself. I feel much better connected to myself, the outside, and the people around me. So much gratitude. Thanks Erin.”

I hope you don’t, but if you must:

The maximum group number depends on the retreat, but no groups will be larger than 10 participants in 2024.

Our accommodation in the NRH will feel rustic and traditional with a modern flair and cozy vibes. The hut is built in two parts (the old building and the new building) and I’ve been informed that we will be sleeping in the new building, the same place as the beautiful seminar room and newly built bathrooms. The dining area is in the old building and will make you feel like you’ve stepped into a cozy mountain cottage.

There are double rooms and group-rooms available, some with bunk beds and some with traditional beds. Think sturdy, solid wood frames, a reading light, space for personal belongings, and windows opening up to a mountain view.

The NRH is a fully vegetarian hut and branches out and serves more than just the traditional Tyrolean fare. Your reservation comes with a hearty breakfast buffet, a to-go packed lunch + a liter of tea, plus a four-course dinner (soup, salad, main, and dessert).

The hike from Falbeson, Austria is 4.9 km, ~3.5-4 hours, and climbs 1060 hm. The hike is a steep climb for the full length of the hike. There is luggage transport for a small fee (once I know the total number of bags they will provide us with a group discount price). If you’d like to carpool from the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area, I will be coordinating with the group a couple weeks beforehand to help arrange this!

  • Arrival/Parking in Falbeson:
    • By public transport
    • By bus station (at the main railway station) in Innsbruck you can reach the stop Krößbach and Falbeson / Neue Regensburger Hütte in the Stubaital.
    • Schedules:https://smartride.vvt.at/
  • By car
    • Via the A12 Inntal and the A13 Brenner motorway to the Schönberg exit and continue to the Stubaital to the valley villages of Krößbach and the valleys Location Falbeson.
    • Parking space: cottage parking at the forest café Knoflach in Falbeson.

All of the hikes are not professionally guided, as I am not a certified mountain guide. I have performed research and will have offline maps available for us to use, but all hiking is done at your own risk.

  • On day two, we’ll enjoy a more low-key hike to the Falbesonersee (appx 1.25 hours there, 290hm, 3km)
  • Day three will offer a slightly more challenging day hike to the Basslerjoch (2.5 hours up, 550hm, 3.5km)
  • To help know if this retreat is for you, I can only suggest getting out and walking these distances and ideally practicing with hikes of similar elevation gain.

Packing list: Layerable clothing is key! Sunscreen/sunglasses, warm hat and a sun hat (it will get cold at night), hiking shoes that you’ve already broken in, rain coat, sports clothing, hiking poles, toiletries, earplugs, schlafsack (a thin liner that you sleep in to separate you from the hut blankets that are provided) bug repellent, a few additional snacks to supplement the packed lunches, ability to carry ~2 liters of water, cash to pay for your room and to purchase drinks, passport, DAV/OAV membership card if you have it, your yoga mat!

Pack as lightly as possible to make the hike simpler. Travel size everything! You need less than you think 😉

I will carry a basic first aid kit with me, but please don’t forget your medications or specific items you prefer to carry.

You can if you want to! There is also luggage transport available for a small fee. This means that you can send your larger backpack and yoga mat up to the hut and just carry a small day-pack with water and essentials. I highly recommend this option unless you are used to backpacking with weight on your back.

To maintain a positive and fluid group dynamic, I ask that anyone coming with you joins the retreat as a regular participant.

Yes, the NHR does accept dogs, under the following conditions.

  • Dogs are not allowed in the beds or on blankets.
  • You must bring your own dog blanket.
  • Dogs may only enter the cottage dry and clean.
  • Dogs must be kept on a lead in and in front of the house!
  • Costs: Costs per day without food: € 10,-
  • incl. food € 20.- (provision of food only possible if booked in advance, dry or dry food)

A note on dogs at the yoga retreat: your dog is not allowed to be with the group during yoga classes.

No, only the welcome circle is mandatory. If you have the desire to do your own thing or hike extra long one day, go for it. However, all the activities are highly encouraged to help you get to know the group, expand your knowledge and skill set, and enjoy the retreat experience!

There’s a saying I like that goes, “There’s no bad weather, only bad gear.” 🙂 Yes, we’ll go even if it rains! There will be replacement activities instead of day-hikes as necessary.
