About Erin Wilson – Teacher, Trainer, Leader

Meet Your fitness and yoga Instructor
Hey, I’m Erin! A passionate fitness & yoga teacher.
Movement has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. After spending 10 years as a competitive gymnast, I experienced firsthand what it felt like to lose the structure, challenge, and sense of belonging that movement had always provided. As I explored new interests during university, I discovered yoga and fitness – not just as forms of exercise, but as powerful tools for connection, self-discovery and well-being.
Today, I’m passionate about helping people build a positive relationship with movement. So many adults and children have become disconnected from their bodies or view exercise as something they have to do rather than something they can enjoy. My goal is to create a space where students feel supported, accepted and empowered to explore their own capabilities while honoring their unique needs and boundaries.
Through yoga, movement, breathwork, and a deeper understanding of the body, I help students cultivate strength, awareness, and confidence that extend far beyond the mat. Because the real practice isn’t just what happens during class – it’s how we carry those lessons into our everyday lives.
What Yoga Style Do I Teach?
My yoga journey began with an Ashtanga Power Yoga course at university, and I was immediately drawn in by the challenge, structure, and physicality of the practice. After years of dedicated Ashtanga study, I began craving more creativity and freedom in my movement, which eventually led me to Vinyasa Yoga – a practice that felt playful, dynamic and full of possibilities!
What has kept me on the mat, however, goes far beyond the physical poses. While fitness often focuses on performance, strength, endurance, or measurable outcomes, yoga invites us to cultivate awareness alongside physical movement. Through breath, mindfulness and intentional movement, yoga becomes a moving meditation – a practice that connects body, mind, and spirit while helping us develop a deeper understanding of ourselves. Both yoga and fitness are extremely valuable despite being different.
Like many students, I was initially attracted to yoga because of the physical practice. But the more I explored its history, philosophy, and teachings, the more I discovered its depth and transformative potential. Today, I love weaving accessible yogic philosophy and anatomy-informed education into my classes, helping students better understand their bodies while finding a practice that feels meaningful both on and off the mat.
A few of my qualifications…
Why Personal Training?
This is an easy question – I love movement, teaching and community. I always knew I wanted to share my love of exercise, sports, movement & yoga, I just needed to figure out HOW. The first formal certification I received to teach exercises was my personal trainer certificate. Helping others lights me up!
Working one-on-one opens more doors than you can imagine. You will learn, grow, and laugh with me and I’ll help you discover how to ENJOY MOVEMENT!

How I ended up in Germany…
My college years, filled with new opportunities and inspiring mentors, led me to discover a passion for yoga and fitness – not just as a student, but as a teacher. A desire for new experiences lead me to a six-month study abroad semester in Italy in 2014 and I fell in love with Europe.
In 2015, I moved to Garmisch-Partenkirchen after graduating from Clemson University with a degree in veterinary science (which was no longer my passion), driven by my desire to live abroad. After seven years of juggling part-time jobs with the US Army and teaching yoga locally, I took the leap into self-employment.
In April 2024, I founded The Third Place, aiming to grow my fitness and yoga business by hosting European retreats, collaborating with local partners, and offer more private and group classes!
What does THE THIRD PLACE actually mean? Find out here!
A few words from my happy students…
“I hardly ever miss a class! Erin keeps me motivated and helps me hold myself accountable for showing up on my mat! I’m so proud and grateful for this habit I’ve built. It’s the best hour of my day most days!”
-dakota, Online STUDENT
“Erin’s knowledge and approach are purely expertise. She knows just when and what to say to allow the student to follow and not be distracted. I highly recommend Erin’s classes to everyone at all levels of practice.”
-renee, online & private student
“The 12 Weeks of Movement course was very informative. Erin provides alternatives to positions to make the practice individualized. No two classes were the same, [we] always changed positions and learned new techniques each class.”
